VAUTID VVP 143
For highly wear-resistant hardfacing in applications which also involve moderate shock loading
These composite wear plates comprise a base plate which has been overlaid, using a special metal arc welding process, with our abrasion-resistant and impact-resistant VAUTID 143 material.
This composite wear plate obtains its wear resistance from a combination of chrome carbides and niobium carbides. Because of their extreme hardness, niobium carbides not only increase wear resistance, they also stabilize the matrix under impact conditions. This extends the service life of components which are subject to severe abrasion or a combination of impact and abrasion.
Recommended applications:
- Components which are exposed to temperatures up to 350°C.
- To protect surfaces which are exposed not only to abrasion but also to impact, e.g. funnels into which highly abrasive materials drop and slide.
- Moving components which operate in abrasive media and strike hard, solid objects at high speed, e.g. blades of gravel washing plant, roll liners in crusher mills, and recycling plant components.
- Components which are used as impact elements or opposing bodies, e.g. hammers in crushing mills, or impact mill housings.
This welding alloy is also available as a VAUTID hardfacing welding consumable (VAUTID 143).
